DAY 1 SAN JOSE

December 5, 2020

Welcome to capital of Costa Rica! San José is home to dense culture and history, exquisite architecture, bustling nightlife and friendly locals. Considered to be both a traditional Central American city and cosmopolitan urban center, San José provides a wonderful array of activities and attractions. Because San José is the cultural hub of the country, there are plenty of museums, art galleries, parks and dining options for visitors to choose form.

There are no planned activities during the day, so check in to the hotel and explore the city. If you arrive early enough, you'll have time to explore the city.

DAY 2 - 3 SAN JOSE - MONTE VERDE

December 6, 7, 2020

Travel from San Jose to Monteverde and into the cool mountain air of the area. Ascend to the Monteverde cloud forest region. Drive through Costa Rica's beautiful countryside to Monteverde to explore the verdant cloud forest and enjoy the surrounding area. Today's ride can be a bumpy ride on some unpaved roads, but the views along the way are spectacular.

Spend a couple of days exploring the town and a cloud forest reserve, truly a bird lover's paradise. This unique community has several cooperatives worth visiting.
Optional activities include the Sky Walk, a series of suspension bridges through the jungle canopy, a butterfly garden and a thrilling canopy zipline.

DAY 4 MONTE VERDE - LA FORTUNA ARENAL

December 8, 2020

Travel through rolling hills and across a lake to La Fortuna, where there is free time to explore.
The town of La Fortuna lies near the base of the Arenal Volcano and is a perfect launch pad to go wild and let the adrenaline flow with a range of adventure sports.

DAY 5 LA FORTUNA ARENAL

December 9, 2020

Today we discover the natural beauty of the La Fortuna region on an action-packed full-day tour. We go on hikes through lush rain forest; visit a butterfly garden and Maleku Indian village; take a dip at La Fortuna waterfall; look for wildlife; and view the Arenal Volcano. Top off the day with a cocktail and a relaxing soak in a natural hot water river.

DAY 6 LA FORTUNA - TORTUGUERO

December 10, 2020

In the morning, transfer by road then boat through the famous canals of Tortuguero. This tropical eco-paradise is home to countless bird and animal species, and you will have many opportunities to view and photograph wildlife. This unique village has walking paths that extend into the national park, a fantastic place to see wildlife even when turtles aren't in season.

The tropical rainforest gives way to prime secluded beaches, ideal nesting grounds for green turtles (nesting July through October), loggerhead, hawksbill, and leatherback turtles (nesting March through June). We cannot guarantee you will see turtles, but that odds are fairly good from July through October. Opt to visit the nesting grounds of the green and leatherback turtles at night (seasonal).

DAY 7 TORTUGUERO

December 11, 2020

Today we take the boat tour along the canals of the national park, you will visit the pristine beach, visit the simple Tortuguero village and the Caribbean Conservation Corporation´s visitor center and turtle museum. If energetic, you can also climb the only hill in the area, the short but steep 150m high Cerro Tortuguero, for a great scenic view of the canals and ocean. The canals around the national park, and also the ocean, provide an optional fishing.

DAY 8 - 9 TORTUGUERO - PUERTO VIEJO DE TALAMANCA

December 12,13, 2020

Head to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. Opt to snorkel in the Caribbean, hike in Manzanillo National Wildlife Refuge, or rent a bike to hit the beach.

A morning boat ride and drive ends in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, with spectacular scenery en route. This seaside town is perfect for relaxing or exploring the Manzanillo National Wildlife Refuge.

With free time here, head out and explore. Don't forget to try some fantastic Afro-Caribbean cuisine. The picturesque village of Puerto Viejo de Talamanca’s 14 kms of incomparable white- and black-sand beaches are surrounded by exotic tropical vegetation. Opt to rent a bike, hike to Monkey Point, go snorkelling or take it easy and explore La Isla Botanical Gardens.

DAY 10 PUERTO VIEJO DE TALAMANCA - BOCAS DEL TORO

December 14, 2020

Crossing into Panama, travel by bus, foot, then a boat to arrive to the Archipelago of Bocas del Toro, which means the bull’s mouth. Enjoy free time while here to snorkel, scuba dive, or just relax on the beach.

DAY 11 - 12 BOCAS DEL TORO

December 15,16, 2020

Is many optional activities you can explore today or enjoy free time to snorkel the blue Caribbean waters or look for red frogs at—where else?—Red Frog Beach.
Dolphin Bay: 50 USD
A Giant Natural Aquarium! The calm black waters of the Archipelago are home to a semi-permanent population of Bottlenose dolphins. These waters host tons of small fish, crustaceans, jellyfish, and squid that make the perfect feeding grounds for pods of dolphins.
A labyrinth of shallow channels formed by mangroves and hanging coral boarder the bays northern entrance. This effect makes a giant natural aquarium. Here dolphins play in the boats wake and put on one of nature's best shows.
Zapatilla Cay & Coral Cay: 45 USD
Get whisked away into peace and seclusion. Your captain will introduce you to a day of tranquility where the white sand stretches for as far as one can see on the islands of the Zapatillas. These islands are one of Bocas del Toros number one tourist destinations. Our resort is so close that we can get you there early to enjoy the beauty without the rush of the Caribbean tourist crowd. This beach is also a nature preserve for sea turtle breeding.
Coral Cay: The Caribbean waters surrounding Panama are alive with bright coral reefs. The colors of Coral Cay are described as if someone painted the sea floor. This part of the archipelago is only a short boat ride from Azul Paradise and is a protected marine sanctuary. The clear and unpolluted waters are home to marine life that call the coral reefs home. Bust out your snorkeling gear and jump into the warm water to enter this vibrantly colored world beneath the water's surface.

Fishing Charter: 400 USD
You will travel out to open water in our new amazing fishing charter. This excursion could last up to four hours. Price can be split between a group. Please let us know when booking if you would like this set up as a private tour.
Sloth Island: 45 USD
Grab your zoom lens! Glide through the crystal clear blue waters to an island surrounded by Mangroves. The trick is finding the dozens of sloths that call this island home. Somedays you will see them bathing in the sea, other days they will be high up on branches. Your captain will slowly coast around the island helping you spot them in their natural surroundings.

DAY 13 BOCAS DEL TORO - PANAMA CITY

December 17, 2020

Leave the beach and take the flight to Panama's capital. Filled with colonial architecture and cobblestone streets line with cafes and bars. Opt to spend a night on the town with the group. The country’s capital is a modern, bustling city, thanks to the enormous trade and commerce that passes through each year. There are plenty of other reasons to visit the Panama City aside from the world-famous canal. Panama La Vieja (Old Panama) has some great old buildings, as well as some interesting museums that document the history of the region and the building of the canal.

DAY 14 PANAMA CITY

December 18, 2020

Visit the Panama Canal, including the Miraflores Locks and on-site museum. The Panama Canal is considered to be one of the greatest engineering wonders of the world. It extends 77km (48 mi) over a series of lakes and locks and connects the Atlantic (via the Caribbean Sea) to the Pacific Ocean. Discover the dramatic history of its construction, beginning with the French in the late 1800's, the official completion by the US in 1914, and what’s happened since. Witness a freighter, sailboat, or maybe even a submarine, transit through a lock. It’s an experience not to be missed.

DAY 15 PANAMA CITY

December 19, 2020

Your adventure ends today, there are no activities planned you can depart at any time.. If you plan on staying on to check out some more of Panama City, why not do it on an with day tours like Taste of Panama City, you can sample local cocktails, craft beers and ceviche under the guidance of someone who knows the city well.
